I feel really blessed. I recognize how lucky I am to be given experiences that I could never have dreamed of.
At the start of the year I was able to travel to Patna, Bihar and forget the rest of the world. While celebrating the 350th birth anniversary of Our Guru and Spiritual Father, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, I feel like we all time-traveled into an alternate reality.
It was a world without time. The 10 days felt like months. Even now, I feel both as though it was a dream, and as though part of me is still there.
My experience was partially blocked, as I spent a lot of it in front of computers or behind cameras… never-the-less I was touched by an amazing energy that seemed to surround everything.
I learnt that there are more important things in life than “things”.
That happiness and contentment can be contagious.
However, I feel like most of all I’ve embraced the saying: “when life gives you lemons, make some lemonade”. (I think Lemonade is my word for the year…)
The trip had its challenges, just like life always does, but it was magical because no challenge seemed too big or too scary. Some were hard and some were frustrating, but ultimately there was always a positive…
I could write for hours and hours about the most amazing and life changing events that occurred on this trip. Things that touched my soul and made me smile… but the thing that I will take away and try to act upon this year is the thought of lemonade…
The feeling that even when there appears to be no resolution in sight, you find the positives, and the blessings, and you keep going… It’s a theme in the stories I heard and the people I met in Bihar… and it’s the lesson that I want to carry me throughout this year and all the years hereafter…
